INDIANA CHAPTER


PAMET-IN membership is not growing but with the limited quantity in manpower and resources that we have, we have delivered quality accomplishments as enumerated below:

1) January 2007 donated part of the proceeds from 2006 Induction Ball to St. Augustine Home for the Elderly

2) March 2007 revived PAMET-IN newsletter and 1st issue was distributed

3) May 5, 2007 PAMET-IN Spring Seminar @ Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis

4) June 9, 2007 Golf Tournament Fund Raising @ Valle Vista

5) June 23,2007 volunteered @ Camp Mabuhay. PAMET-IN in collaboration with Barangay Club of IN, Philippine Nursing Assoc. of IN (PNA-IN), Philippine Medical Assoc. of IN (PMA-IN) worked together to show and teach the Adopted Filipino kids in IN (ages 3-16) and Children who were born and grew up in USA the Filipino culture. We taught Filipino songs, alphabet, games, showed them how to count, introduced Filipino dishes and demonstrated cooking lessons to their parents. We also have “Sari-Sari” store where kids and parents can buy items from the Philippines. There was also an exhibit at the Philippine museum that was made just for the occasion.

6) July 14, 2007 St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry volunteer

7) July 29,2007 Gawad Kalinga fund raising event. This project was organized by PAMET-IN, PNA-IN, PMA-IN and Barangay Club of IN and the founder of Gawad Kalinga in IN.  We were able to raise $20,000 for the project. With our very small membership, PAMET-IN was able to raise enough funds to sponsor 1 Gawad Kalinga home.

8) Sept. 23,2007  we participated in a 5K walk for the “Race for All Races”. This was organized by American Asian Alliance to raise funds for the Indianapolis Public School students.

9) Oct or Nov  pending Fall seminar in Northwest IN

10) Dec 2007 Elvie and I will be representing PAMET-IN on Dec 6 13, 2007 at the Philippine Surgical/Medical Mission in Legaspi Albay.
