By Dan Dominguez – President

Having been elected and inducted as the new President of PAMET NO-CAL last July 22nd, together with the new set of officers, we have started the following activities and programs set for the remaining part the year 2007.

A.  Last Aug. 4th, we had the 1st day of the review class. Half of the Board of Officers helped in the registration of the candidates. Jill Mendoza is currently in-charge of the review class and Vicky Tubig is our Lecturers coordinator. We do provide 2 review classes a year and group study sessions for all the candidates to get them prepared for the November CLS examination.

B. At the same day Aug 4th, me and the other officers volunteered in the RELAY FOR LIFE, a 24 hour walkathon sponsored by the American Cancer Society held in Vallejo, Ca. as part of our community services.

C. We held our 3rd Continuing Education Seminar last Aug. 25th. Letty Acosta, our Education Coordinator has been very active on this program and we have already set up another Continuing Education Seminar on December 8th.,our last seminar for the year. We are very happy to say that most of our Continuing Education Seminars have been well attended and supported ever since we started this program.

D. We will have a fund raising event on November 3rd, a casino trip to keep our financial standing stable. Rino Ibarra, our current Auditor and Alan Roux , a Board Member are heading this committee.

E. On Nov. 7th, the day of the CLS examination, most of the officers will be at the examination site to provide moral support to all the candidates and at the end of the examination, we will treat them for lunch and get some feedbacks from them.

E. As part of our community services, we plan to help on Thanksgiving day to provide meal for the homeless. Ric del Rosario, a Board Member will head this committee.

F. We plan to participate in another Community service before Christmas.

G. Lastly, Christmas party at Liz Dequina’s residence as we always do every year, to relax, enjoy and bring harmony, unity and togetherness to every one.

Finally, our future goals for next year, 2008:

a. To increase our membership by having a membership drive to all the different Hospitals
    and Reference Laboratories.

b. To provide review classes as we always do

c. To continue providing 3-4 Continuing Education Seminars every year.

d. To maintain our level of community services by helping in the Health fairs, feeding the
homeless, Relay for Life for cancer survivors and donations to different shelter homes.

e. To hold fund raising events 3-4 times a year.

f. To actively participate in the legislative process that affects our profession.

g. Most of all, to keep, maintain and be a strong supporter of the PAMET –USA.

WE are highly committed to be involved in all of these programs. In spite of what we do everyday from work, home, personal and other events, we tried to keep an open mind that we can do some other things, that is “TO HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE”.
