First of all, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to everybody for your participation in the last convention in Texas. It was the cohesive effort of all chapters that made this event a success. Though there were shortcomings beyond our control, I personally take responsible for it. We did the best we can to make it a resounding success. Each one of us has its own God-given talents, ideas, creativity and intelligence, but have its own respective levels. So , our association depends on all the members with diversity in all aspects if we put them together. One for all, all for one that makes PAMET a unified Filipino association. Thank you for all your understanding.
After the convention, hurricane Ike visited Texas and thanks God we are all safe despite the many houses that were destroyed and the power outages that affected most of the Houstonians for almost two weeks. Thanks you for all your prayers and concerns.
Sorry for the delay of all the publications of convention pictures, events, news in our website due to the transition period. Our new webmaster is our National PRO and Pres. of PAMET-Florida Maria Eugenia Eduardo. I would like to thank Mr. Richard de Leon for helping us in transferring his computer expertise to his successor. Please feel free to give your comments/suggestions for the betterment of our website.
Belle Ocampo, our National Treasurer is almost done with her financial report of the National Convention. A copy of the report will be given to one of the board of directors for the final audit and approval, timely for the information of everyone during the executive board meeting. We will make sure that everybody will be informed of our financial status.
Indiana Chapter had a new president. Let us congratulate and wish good luck to Madam Pres. Lauren Tanedo and all the officers. The induction was very successful. Kudos to Angel Miguel for a productive team.
When I attended Indiana’s Induction’s ceremony, we had a short meeting with all the officers and the National 3rd VP, Dan Dominguez. Since there were concerns not only to their local chapter but also to the National. I suggested that it is better for them to list all their suggestions and concerns the same thing should be done with other chapters so that we will compile all of these for presentation to the executive board meeting. And so, I would like to request every chapter so that everybody cab read and for you to have time to review which one is the best for the association. We will follow up all chapters regarding this matter.
During the last convention, there were some suggestions/ concerns that we were not able to take up/ discuss due to lack of time. Your participation is highly appreciated.
We will try to keep in touch with Connecticut Chapter for its revival. We will keep you posted for whatever developments. Congratulations to Pres. Violeta Miszkully for her second term as Pres of New York. The inducting officer was Bernice Garcia, hosted by Ted Intal. Good luck to all of you.
The first fund raising activity of New Jersey under the leadership of Cleatus Reynolds was on Dec. 20, 2008 which was the birthday and retirement party of Tom Rivada, one of our Board of Directors. Proceeds were donated to PAMET NJ. I hope Tom Rivada and Rody Sumilang will continue to help them all the way. Thank you Zita Lopez for all the sacrifices you’ve done for PAMET NJ.
I would like to inform you that the Mayor of Cagayan is now ready to accept us for the Medical Mission. Schedule dates will be announced the soonest to give us ample time to prepare. For those who are interested to join, you are all welcome provided that you shoulder your own expenses. Any contribution like glucose kit is very much appreciated.
Please be ready with your respective report on all chapter activities to be published in our newsletter. If you have some pictures to be published the better.
We lost a true leader, a dear friend and a loyal colleague of PAMET USA, Carmelita Lee Teodore from Georgia. Let us all pray for the repose of her soul. A tribute for her is posted in our website.
Thank you very much. May God Bless Us All.
Sincerely,
Esther Madamba
