PAMET is the acronym of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists. PAMET has existed for years in the Philippines, and continues to be a very active organiztion up to this day. Some of it's members who imigrated to the US formed PAMET organizations in Chicago (1984), New York (1984) and New Jersey (1987). The pioneering set of officers were elected on January 14, 1984. These groups functioned independently from the Philippines and from each other. In 1987, PAMET's incorporation status was achieved under the name of Philippine Association of Medical Technologists-USA, Inc. It was not until 1988 that PAMET-Illinois, under the dynamic leadership of then Illinois President, Aida Maguigad, initiated moves to form a national organization.

Hence, on September 3,1988, history was made and written for the thousands of Filipino Medical Technologists in the USA. Progress was swift. In 1989, two new chapters joined. These were Northern California and Southern California. By the time of 1990 National Convention in New Jersey, another chapter was formed in Connecticut. The next 2 years that followed were marked by the consolidation, the success of which was felt strongly at the 1992 National Convention held in Santa Clara, California. 1993 continued to be a period of deeper consolidation; however, member expansion continued at a faster pace than planned. It resulted to the fruitful formation of three more new chapters. Texas, Virginia and Hawaii.

In 1994 after the convention in Long Beach,California, three more chapters were added: Michigan, Indiana, and Washington, DC. Georgia was added after the convention in Long Island, NY. The last chapter to be added in the 20th century (1999) was Nevada.

On September 1, 2002 the long awaited national WEBSITE www.pametusa.org was launched. It was created by PAMET-Nevada member Virgie Gambon Quintin.

On February 15.2004, the first ever National Teleconference was hosted by PAMET-Nevada and conducted by the National President Ricky Martinez.

During the administration of Pres. Mila Braganza, Gloria dela Cruz from Georgia initiated the formation of Florida Chapter. She initially introduced Ms. Eugenia Eduardo to PAMET during the Executive Board Meeting in Las Vegas. From then on, EUGENIA moved on and finally Florida Chapter was formed and eventually she was inducted as first President of PAMET Florida Chapter on July 2008.

Our colleagues in San Diego Chapter were challenged by territorial distance to put up a Chapter of their own as well as to be able to fulfill the mission and vision of the association. They were inspired with the proverbial line which says, "Every great leap starts with a single step." So, they took the initiative, pooled their resources and cohesive efforts together to conceive a dream.With the full support and guidance of Southern California under the leadership of President Art Trinidad, moral support from 1st Vice President Leo Fabriquier and 2nd Vice President Dan Dominguez of PAMET-USA, this dream came to reality. National President Esther Madamba, then went to San Diego to extend full support and to meet new colleagues on their meeting, gathering and fellowship.A big group of Medical Technologists attended the meeting. From there, they elected the New Set of officers wherein Ms LET NEGADO was unanimously elected as the President. All of them were considered the pioneers of the chapter,...THE DAY FOR ALL OF US TO REMEMBER .......JUNE 6, 2010, AT NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA when President Esther Madamba proclaimed the official formation of SAN DIEGO CHAPTER AS THE 16th CHAPTER OF PAMET-USA,INC. !!!!

Signifying the true meaning of coordinated effort, with inspiring motivation and determination of Pamet Northern California's President Dan Dominguez, Pamet Sacramento Valley, CA became the 17th chapter of PAMETUSA,Inc. under the leadership of President Eddie Saez. On December 4, 2010, its set of officers was formally inducted by the now National President Nile Alconcel.

Just recently, President Alconcel EXCITEDLY announced another formation of a new chapter. Our 18th Chapter of PAMET-USA, INC. PAMET-NEBRASKA was founded on August 27, 2011 under the leadership of Rex Famitangco, their elected first President. With perseverance and encouragement, Shirley Cruzada, our national 2nd Vice-President introduced our organization to this new chapter. Congratulations to our new chapters, Sacramento and Nebraska!!!
